Alma Telehealth FAQs

Alma has launched a video platform within the Alma portal so that providers can schedule telehealth sessions with their clients without ever leaving the Alma portal to gather the video call link or information. As a client, the way you have sessions with your Alma provider is not changing.

Data Privacy

Is Alma Telehealth HIPAA-compliant?

Yes, Alma Telehealth is HIPAA-compliant and data encrypted as are all of Alma’s platform.

Are my sessions with Alma Telehealth recorded or stored?

No, sessions conducted on Alma Telehealth are not recorded or stored.

My provider uses Alma for scheduling our sessions, but bills outside of Alma. Will my sessions still be through Alma Telehealth?

As long as your provider schedules your session on the Alma calendar and you are included on their client roster in Alma, they will be able to conduct your session through Alma Telehealth whether you are in-network out-of-network, or even billed outside of Alma.

Joining Sessions

How do I join a virtual session when my provider is using Alma Telehealth?

Your provider will add a link for you to join your Alma Telehealth session just as they would with a Zoom link, or link from any other video platform. The link to join your session will be delivered in your appointment details email from Alma as usual.

When you click the Alma Telehealth, a screen will pop-up where you can check your camera and microphone settings, and enter your name to join the session.

How do I leave the session?

All the controls to mute and unmute your microphone, turn your camera on and off, and end your session can be found at the bottom of your screen.

Adjusting your settings

Can I turn on closed captions?
