Alma works with an expansive group of commercial insurance companies across the United States. We also partner with programs like Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) and Optum Care Connect. These partnerships help you reach more clients and grow your practice. You can learn more about them here:

To get paid through Alma’s Insurance Program, you must:
- Be licensed in the state you are providing service
and
- Be credentialed via Alma with each insurance payer.
Because benefits vary by state, plan, and employer, we always recommend adding each client’s insurance details to the Alma portal. Our team will confirm whether their plan is in-network and what the expected payment responsibility is.

E.g., A provider licensed and credentialed in Ohio can see a client with Anthem BCBS of Virginia if that client is in Ohio for their session. Do note that you may be reimbursed at different rates depending on whether you are providing service in-state or out of state.Regional Plans
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts
Alma welcomes providers across all 50 states to get credentialed with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Unlike Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, you do not need to be located or licensed in Massachusetts to be credentialed with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts.
However, only providers located in Massachusetts will be eligible to see Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts clients both in person and virtually. Providers located outside of Massachusetts will only be eligible to see virtual Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts clients. Learn more about Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and Alma by visiting the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts FAQ.
Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) of New York (formerly Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield)
Only providers licensed and seeing clients in New York state are eligible for credentialing with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield through Alma’s Insurance Program. If you are not licensed and seeing clients in New York state, you are not currently eligible.
Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) of Texas
To be eligible for credentialing with BCBSTX through Alma's insurance program, providers must hold a valid Texas license. Only BCBS clients located in Texas can access services from BCBSTX credentialed providers at Alma.
Point32Health
Two of Massachusetts’s largest health plans, Harvard Pilgrim and Tufts Health Plan, merged to form the regional insurer, Point32Health.
We have prioritized contracting directly with Point32Health to ensure continuity of care for Alma clients and providers formerly in-network with Harvard Pilgrim Health Plans. Alma’s partnership with Point32Health launched on November 1st with no lapse in in-network coverage for clients whose providers opted in to Point32Health.
