Alma’s Secure Messaging platform allows you to contact your Alma provider directly from the Alma Client Portal. This is an encrypted messaging platform that aligns with HIPAA standards to safeguard your communications with your provider.
Note: Messaging is not intended for emergency use. Your Alma provider may not respond to messages immediately or offer 24/7 care to you through Secure Messaging. Please call 988 or 911 if you are experiencing an emergency. |

Getting Started
Messaging will automatically be available in your Alma Client Portal if you are part of the early access group.
New to the Client Portal? You’ll receive an email invitation to create an account if your provider sends you a message.
How to Use Secure Messaging
Sending a Message
- Navigate to the Messages page from your Client Portal
- Write your message in the space provided and either hit the Return/Enter key or click Send message
Receiving a Message
You will be notified of new messages from your provider in one of two ways:
- In the Alma Client Portal, if you are logged in, a notification bubble will appear next to Messages to indicate your number of unread messages.
- Via email, if you are not active in the portal or have not read messages within 30 minutes.
Message History
You can access your message history with your provider from your Messages page.
Message data will be permanently deleted after 13 months.
