Use this article to learn whether you can use your insurance with an Alma provider. Looking for a list of accepted insurance plans? See: Participating Insurance Plans
Before You Get Started
Alma partners with many commercial insurance plans. Whether you can use your insurance depends on:
- Your specific health plan
- Your provider's insurance credentialing
- Where you're located during your session
Even if your insurance carrier participates with Alma, your specific plan may not.
Alma confirms your eligibility after reviewing your insurance information before your first appointment. To learn more, see How Alma Checks Your Insurance and Estimates Your Costs.
Check if Alma Partners With Your Insurance
The easiest way to determine whether you can use your insurance and start seeing providers is through the Alma Provider Directory.
- Open the Alma provider directory
- Search for a provider.
- Enter your location.
- Select your insurance plan.
- Review providers who accept your insurance.
| Note: Seeing your insurance plan in the directory does not guarantee coverage. Alma verifies your eligibility after reviewing your insurance information. |
What if I Don’t See My Insurance Plan?
If your insurance plan isn't listed, don't worry. There are a few things you can check first.
Confirm Your Plan Details
Insurance carriers often offer multiple health plans, and not every plan participates with Alma.
Review your insurance card and confirm:
- The exact name of your insurance plan
- Whether your coverage is through an employer, the Health Insurance Marketplace, Medicare, Medicaid, or another program, such as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
If you're still unsure, contact your insurance company using the phone number on the back of your insurance card.
What if I Have a Blue Cross Blue Shield Plan?
Blue Cross Blue Shield plans may be administered by different regional insurance companies. The name on your insurance card may differ from the name on the plan available through Alma.
Review your insurance card carefully and use the information listed to identify your plan.
What if Alma Does Not Partner with My Insurance?
If Alma isn't in network with your insurance plan, you may still be able to work with an Alma provider. Depending on your provider and insurance plan, you may be able to use:
- Out-of-network benefits
- Private pay (out-of-pocket payments)

| Note: Alma continues to add new insurance partnerships over time. If your insurance plan isn't currently accepted, we can't provide a timeline for when it may become available. |
